Mekeni Food Corporation proudly marked its 40th founding anniversary with the theme “40 Years, May Kwento sa Bawat Timpla,” celebrating four decades of quality, innovation, and meaningful stories shared with Filipino families. Media representatives from South Luzon gathered for the milestone event, joining company executives in honoring Mekeni’s journey from a humble family enterprise to one of the country’s most trusted and award-winning food manufacturers.

Central to the celebration was the introduction of the Garcia brothers, who continue to lead and uphold the legacy of the company’s founders. At the helm is Prudencio “Pruds” Garcia, President of Mekeni Food Corporation, together with his three brothers: Adrino Garcia, VP for Supply Chain; Angelito Garcia, VP for Finance, HR & Admin; and Diosdado Garcia, VP for Manufacturing. Their united leadership has guided Mekeni through decades of expansion, innovation, and community-centered service.

In line with the anniversary theme, Mekeni also unveiled its newest additions to its expanding product line—the Mekeni Kikiam and the Mekeni Fishballs, both crafted using fresh fish and high-quality meat. The Garcia brothers emphasized that these products were developed to reflect the heart of their tagline: that every Mekeni product carries a story of care, quality, and dedication.

Media attendees were given a closer look at Mekeni’s continuous pursuit of excellence, including its commitment to food safety, product innovation, and responsible manufacturing. Executives shared how each product embodies the spirit of “May kwento sa bawat timpla”, a reminder that Mekeni’s success is built on the stories of its people, customers, and communities.

The program also revisited Mekeni’s inspiring history—from its recovery after the Mt. Pinatubo eruption to becoming the first ISO-certified meat processing facility in Asia. These milestones, the Garcia brothers noted, are proof of Mekeni’s unwavering resilience and its deep-rooted passion to serve.

As Mekeni steps into its fifth decade, the company remains committed to strengthening partnerships, especially with the media community in South Luzon that has supported their growth. With new products, expanded capabilities, and a renewed dedication to their core values, Mekeni looks forward to more years of excellence—continuing to create products that carry stories worth sharing.

The gathering aimed to express gratitude to members of the media who have continuously supported PRO IV-A in disseminating vital information about the various health insurance benefits and services offered by PhilHealth. Through their consistent coverage and public service reporting, journalists have played a crucial role in expanding awareness and understanding among members across the region.

During the event, Dr. Oriña emphasized the importance of a strong partnership between PhilHealth and the media. He noted that accurate and timely information shared by media practitioners helps ensure that Filipinos—especially those in the grassroots—are well-informed about their rights, benefits, and access to quality healthcare through PhilHealth programs.

Media representatives from various print, broadcast, and online platforms were present, sharing insights and reaffirming their commitment to supporting initiatives that promote public welfare and accessible healthcare services. PRO IV-A officials also highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen communication channels and enhance transparency in delivering health insurance services to the community.

The Media Pasasalamat underscored PhilHealth’s recognition that journalism is an essential pillar in promoting public health advocacy. By bridging information gaps and amplifying key updates, media partners enable PRO IV-A to fulfill its mandate of ensuring that every Filipino is equipped with the knowledge needed to maximize their PhilHealth benefits.

PhilHealth PRO IV-A expressed its continued appreciation for the unwavering support of media organizations in Cavite, Laguna, and Quezon—acknowledging them as vital allies in promoting health security and improving the well-being of Filipinos across Region IV-A.
