KAWIT, Cavite — The Kawit Rural Health Unit (RHU) spearheaded a livelihood training program for adolescent mothers in the municipality, equipping participants with practical skills that can help reduce household expenses and provide potential income opportunities.
During the activity, young mothers were taught how to produce dishwashing liquid—an affordable, easy-to-make household necessity that can be used for personal consumption or sold as a small home-based business. The initiative aims to empower adolescent mothers by giving them livelihood options while they continue to care for their families.
While the Kawit RHU remains proactive in promoting programs and awareness campaigns to prevent teenage and adolescent pregnancies—including proper family planning education—it also ensures that existing young mothers receive the guidance, support, and assistance they need.
The local government expressed its appreciation to the Kawit RHU for leading the program and for its continued commitment to nurturing and uplifting adolescent mothers in the community. /PR
