Indang Strengthens Barangay Anti-Drug Efforts Through ADAC Summit 2025

Tagaytay City, October 6, 2025 — In support of the national government’s intensified campaign against illegal drugs and the goal of building drug-resistant communities, the Municipality of Indang successfully held the Indang Anti-Drug Abuse Council (ADAC) Summit 2025 at Hotel Casiana, Tagaytay City.
The summit featured the Program Orientation on Strengthening Institutional Capacities of the Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (SICAP-BADAC) and Adbokasiya LABan sa Ilegal na Droga (ALAB), which brought together 216 participants composed of BADAC Chairpersons, Advocacy and Operations Chairs, Sangguniang Kabataan officials, Barangay Secretaries, and Chief Tanods from Indang’s 36 barangays.
The orientation aimed to enhance the capability of barangay leaders to develop, implement, and sustain effective anti-drug programs at the grassroots level.
Key discussion topics included the SICAP-BADAC Module, which covered standardized BADAC guidelines, organizational structures, performance assessment tools, and the sustainability of the Barangay Drug Clearing Program. Other topics focused on the National Anti-Drug Strategy, DILG Memorandum Circular 2018-01, and Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The ALAB session introduced participants to community-based advocacy frameworks, engagement strategies, and successful anti-drug campaigns, along with insights into the Drug-Free Workplace Program and Drug Abuse Prevention Education initiatives.
Representatives from key agencies such as the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), Philippine National Police (PNP), and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) were also present to provide technical guidance and support.
