Cavite’s Newly Elected Officials Take Oath at Historic San Agustin Church

Tanza, Cavite — June 25, 2025 — In a solemn and symbolic ceremony held at the historic Diocesan Shrine of San Agustin (Holy Cross Parish) in Tanza, Cavite, the province’s newly elected officials officially took their oaths of office on Tuesday.

Leading the roster of public servants were Governor-elect Francisco Gabriel “Abeng” Remulla, Vice Governor-elect Ramon Vicente “Ram” Revilla Bautista, and 7th District Congressman Crispin Diego “Ping” Remulla. Joining them in the mass oath-taking were members of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan from Cavite’s eight districts, Tanza Mayor-elect Archangelo “SM” Matro, and newly elected municipal councilors.

The ceremony was graced by prominent personalities who administered the oaths: Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Juanito Victor “Jonvic” Remulla for Tanza’s local officials; Prosecutor Vivian Monzon-Rojo for the Board Members; Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr. for Vice Governor-elect Revilla; and Department of Justice Secretary Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla for Congressman Ping Remulla and Governor-elect Abeng Remulla.

The day began with a Eucharistic celebration presided over by Rev. Fr. Virgilio Mendoza, parish priest of San Agustin Church. The Mass served as a spiritual send-off for the incoming leaders, offering prayers of guidance, thanksgiving, and renewed commitment to public service.

Adding a touch of grace and solemnity to the occasion, the world-renowned choral group Imusicapella rendered a series of inspiring musical performances that resonated with the attendees and amplified the weight of the officials’ pledges.

Held in one of Cavite’s most revered historical landmarks, the ceremony was a poignant blend of tradition, civic pride, and forward-looking leadership. The choice of San Agustin Church—a site that has stood witness to centuries of local heritage—lent a deep sense of continuity to the proceedings.

In their inaugural addresses, Governor Abeng Remulla and Vice Governor Ram Revilla called for servant leadership, participatory governance, and inclusive progress. Governor Remulla, representing a new generation of leadership, vowed to maintain an open and responsive government that listens to every voice and ensures that no community is left behind. Vice Governor Revilla underscored the sacred duty of public service—leading with integrity, serving with compassion, and governing with conviction.
