IMUS, Cavite – More than just a campaign event, Imustahan, Kapehang may Puso became a true dialogue with the people on March 17, 2025, at Villa Emilia Farm. The event was led by Congressman Emmanuel “Manny” Maliksi, alongside mayoralty candidate Robert Rey Lacson and the candidates for the Sangguniang Panlungsod, who took the time to listen to the concerns of their fellow Imuseños and provide concrete responses.
One of the most pressing issues raised was the city’s health card program. Many attendees assumed that the program was available to all, but Lacson clarified that only real property taxpayers could benefit from it. “I thought this was free for all Imuseños,” one participant expressed. In response, Team Imus laid out their plan to expand the program’s coverage to include residents who cannot afford to pay real property tax. They committed to finding additional funding to ensure that no citizen is left behind when it comes to healthcare services.
Aside from healthcare, concerns about local cooperatives also surfaced. According to Councilor Atty. Dulce Saquilayan Delmo, many cooperatives in Imus struggle to remain operational due to a lack of government support. Some are even forced to shut down because they do not receive financial aid or adequate training to sustain their businesses. To address this, Atty. Delmo proposed allocating a larger budget, implementing more effective training programs, and establishing a Cooperative Assistance Program to serve as a bridge between the government and cooperatives.
Amid these pressing issues, Team Imus demonstrated that they are not merely making campaign promises but are committed to offering concrete solutions. Also present at the event were Councilors Rupert “Kidbukid” Campaña, Oscar “Oca” De Quiroz, Raymond “Monmon” Arguelles, Antonio “LA” Deocadis, Emilio “Miong” Aguinaldo V, Daryl “Dada” De Ocampo, Clark “Claro” Dominguez, Jelyn Maliksi, Vincent “Vince” Amposta, and Don Carlo “Don-Don” Yambao, all of whom shared their insights and proposed programs.
As the discussion concluded, Congressman Maliksi assured the public that their campaign is not just about the election but about a continuous commitment to public service. “Our mission is to sustain Maliksing Serbisyo—a government that is open, honest, and responsive to the needs of every Imuseño,” he stated. Through Imustahan, Kapehang may Puso, Team Imus reaffirms their dedication to ensuring that the voices of the people have a direct path to those making decisions for a better and more progressive Imus.
