Binangonan, Rizal — In a joint effort to enhance agricultural productivity and promote sustainable farming practices, the Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute CALABARZON (DA-ATI CALABARZON), the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist, and the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian of Rizal officially launched a three-day training session titled “Smart Solutions for Healthy Harvests: Rice Integrated Pest Management Training for Farmers.”
The training, held from June 17 to 19 at the Binangonan Recreation and Conference Center, aims to broaden the knowledge of local rice farmers on the principles and techniques of Integrated Pest Management (IPM). The program is being conducted under the Province-led Agriculture and Fisheries Extension System (PAFES), which supports localized agricultural development.
The event was formally opened by Ms. Maria Pilar Pablo, Senior Agriculturist from the Rizal Provincial Agriculturist Office, and Ms. Abegail Del Rosario, Senior Agriculturist from DA-ATI CALABARZON. Also present was Mr. Erwin Diestro, Municipal Agriculturist of Binangonan, who delivered an inspiring message to the farmer-participants.
Through this training, organizers hope to equip farmers with science-based, eco-friendly pest control strategies to ensure healthier harvests and greater resilience against crop losses./ATI-CALABARZON
