VICTORIA, Laguna — The COCONUTPhilippines Featuring KALAKAL CALABARZON 2026 recorded P17.58 million in combined cash and booked sales during its seven-day run from August 17 to 23 at Festival Mall Alabang in Muntinlupa City.
A total of 61 exhibitors participated in the regional trade fair, including 47 beneficiaries of the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP) from across CALABARZON and 14 One Town, One Product (OTOPreneurs) from Laguna.
Of the total, P10.69 million came from cash sales, while P6.90 million was recorded as booked sales.
Participating enterprises from Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon offered coconut-based food and beverages, health and wellness products, personal care items, handicrafts, fashion and lifestyle products, and other locally developed products.
For the 47 CFIDP beneficiaries, the event provided an avenue to bring value-added coconut products closer to consumers and potential buyers, creating opportunities to generate greater value beyond raw coconut production. It also allowed coconut farmers and entrepreneurs to build market connections and explore opportunities for continued business growth.
The P6.90 million in booked sales represents orders generated during the event that may translate into continued business beyond the seven-day trade fair, alongside connections established with consumers, institutional buyers, distributors, retailers, and other potential business partners.
For DTI Laguna Provincial Director Christian Ted O. Tungohan, the result shows what local enterprises can achieve when given access to wider markets.
“The P17.58 million in combined cash and booked sales shows what our farmers and MSMEs can achieve when they are given access to wider markets. More importantly, it shows that our local enterprises have products that consumers and buyers are willing to support. Our task now is to help them build on these gains and sustain the connections they made during the trade fair,” Tungohan said.
The sales result reinforces DTI’s efforts to help coconut farmers and MSMEs develop value-added products, access wider markets, and build sustainable business opportunities through market-linking activities. (MVMArasa, DTI Laguna)
