DA–ATI CALABARZON Champions Innovation at Coffee Fiesta 2025

TANZA, Cavite — The Department of Agriculture–Agricultural Training Institute CALABARZON (DA–ATI CALABARZON), led by Center Director Dr. Rolando V. Maningas, RAgr, took an active role in the two-day COFFEE FIESTA 2025 held December 3–4 at the Tanza Convention Center, reinforcing its commitment to research-based extension and industry collaboration.


Organized by the Southern Tagalog Agriculture, Aquatic and Resources Research, Development and Extension Consortium (STAARRDEC), this year’s celebration carried the theme “Harnessing Innovation and Research to Accelerate Yield Advancements in the Coffee Industry (HIRAYA).” The event brought together farmers, entrepreneurs, researchers, scientists, and students nationwide to delve into cutting-edge research, emerging technologies, and inspiring success stories that strengthen the country’s coffee sector.


Representing the Center, Assistant Center Director Sherylou C. Alfaro, RAgr, served as evaluator for the Technology Pitching activity, where she assessed innovative and forward-looking solutions aimed at improving coffee production. Meanwhile, Media Production Specialist Roy Roger D. Victoria II served as judge for the Visual Arts Competition, recognizing creative and impactful works that effectively communicated agricultural knowledge.


Through its meaningful participation, DA–ATI CALABARZON highlighted its steadfast dedication to promoting innovation, enhancing productivity, and supporting stakeholders in adopting modern, science-driven practices that advance the competitiveness of the Philippine coffee industry.
